Giving History
Each school year, the North Atlanta High School Foundation makes grants to support specific, high-priority needs for the four Small Learning Communities (SLCs), identified by the principal and senior faculty and staff. Here is an overview of the Foundation’s recent giving. We can do more, but we need your help.
2011-2012 — $10,900 as follows:
- $2,500 grant to register the Robotics Club for the next competition.
- $2,500 grant support the Robotics team in their upcoming build.
- $2,900 Principal grant to support teachers and contract funds.
- $1,000 to fund the North Atlanta Master Band Class.
- $2,000 to host a Symphonic Band Guest Conductor Workshop.
2010-2011 – $26,816 as follows:
- $3,000 grant to help fund an additional instructor for the North Atlanta Dance Program.
- $200 unrestricted grant for the Art Club.
- $1,400 grant to sponsor four Juliard in Residence student scholarships.
- $1,000 grant to fund the North Atlanta Band Master Class.
- $2,000 to host a Symphonic Band Guest Conductor workshop with Samuel Hoza.
- $1,000 to help fund the Performing Arts musical production.
- $3,000 grant to support teacher grants.
- $1,360 to host a homecoming event for Alumni and Parents.
- $186 unrestricted grant to support the Earth Club.
- $6,400 grant to the Robotics team for registration fees and build costs associated with their latest challenge.
- $3,000 grant to fund six SLC scholarships.
- $2,000 in other grants including VOX, and Pride.
- $2,000 grant to partner our French program with Alliance Francaise.
2008-2009 – $26,150 as follows:
- $4,000 to support PRIDE, an innovative incentive program that encourages NAHS teachers to recognize their peers for outstanding performance.
- $1,000 to help host the 2009 Black, Silver and Red Hot Jazz gala fundraiser, which raised nearly $13,000 to support the Foundation and the three SLCs.
- $9,750 to the Center for International Studies to help qualifying students with program fees (funded in part by gala proceeds).
- $5,000 unrestricted grant to the Center for the Arts (gala proceeds).
- $2,500 unrestricted grant to the Center for Business, Hospitality and Leadership (gala proceeds).
- $1,900 to purchase textbooks and materials for Chinese language instruction.
- $1,000 unrestricted grant to the NAHS PTSA.
- $1,000 unrestricted grant to the NAHS Booster Club.
2007-2008 – $12,500 as follows:
- $2,000 unrestricted grant to the Center for the Arts.
- $2,000 unrestricted grant to the Center for Business, Hospitality and Leadership.
- $2,000 unrestricted grant to the Center for International Studies.
- $1,500 to support the school’s hosting of the International Baccalaureate Organization’s global conference.
- $1,000 unrestricted grant to the NAHS PTSA.
- $1,000 unrestricted grant to the NAHS Booster Club.
- $1,000 to help host the 2008 Black, Silver and Red Hot Jazz gala fundraiser.
- $2,000 to support PRIDE (see info on PRIDE above).
