Ashley Logsdon ’03
Class of 2003 Warrior Ashley Logsdon spent the fall of 2005 learning Mandarin at a Chinese University in Beijing. While in China, she was introduced to many prestigious pearl vendors, and after graduating from college, she launched a retail jewelry business in Chattanooga, opening yet another location in Atlanta one year later.
Ashley’s passion for pearls and her ability to bargain and conduct business in Chinese gives her a leg up in sourcing pearls and other jewels that go into her designs. Today, less than three years after its founding, dolma jewelry is carried in 80 boutiques around the country, and sold through Pearl Stylists in private homes.
Despite the economic downturn, dolma‘s revenue was up 40 percent in 2009. Ashley told the Foundation, “My education from North Atlanta provided me with fundamental skills that allowed me the confidence to take huge risks outside of my comfort zone.” It sure did.
